Volunteers Gather for Training and Spiritual Growth
Over seventy volunteers from Naples and Ft. Myers gathered for a daylong event at St. Williams's in Naples, Florida for a "doubly treated" meeting. First, Sr. Kieran Keaves of the SVDP National Council Office introduced "Serving In Hope," an exciting spiritual development program. This is a new program, designed and written by Sr. Kieran, is meant to reinforce and nurture an important aspect of St. Vincent de Paul - the spiritual growth of members. Then, Sr. Mary Kay Finneran, who recently completed six years as volunteer trainer with the Society in Atlanta, presented the "Ozanam Orientation" followed by an afternoon of sharing reflections on the meaning of service for Vincentians. 

The Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has been solemnly consecrated to the Sacred Heat of Jesus from February 5, 1872.  At that time, an Act of Consecration was drawn up at the request of the Society and this act of consecration is renewed annually by all units of the Society (US Manual, p.211).   read more ...
